The coconut palm is grown throughout the tropical world, including Sarawak. The coconut palm produces fruit known as coconut. The coconut has a hollow interior space which is filled with coconut water which is refreshing to drink. Coconut milk, called "santan", is made by grating coconut meat and mixing it with (warm) water. It is used for cooking especially; curry.
